Mark Twain, on Media
“If you don’t read the newspaper you’re uniformed. If you do read the newspaper, you’re misinformed.”

A Japanese concept with no easy translation, Shibumi involves the essence of beauty, or elegant simplicity. It begins with clarity, demands integrity and seeks finesse in following the most natural course.

Strategy and managing people and projects: that’s basically my portfolio. See Business for what I do, Highlights for what I’ve done — you can click on the images there for additional detail.

My clients are companies, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, public agencies, and non-profit organizations and institutions, mostly in the U. S.

Experience has taught me that while change is constant, certain truths prevail. Quality wins out. Integrity matters. If there is no consensus, there might be a better way. I try to apply these lessons in practice.

Navigating the crosscurrents can be a challenge in any realm. Conflicting values — or, just as often, contrasting perceptions of value — can conspire to sink otherwise rock-solid prospects. Shibumi Strategies exists to pursue good business while advancing good ideas.
